The
ballet thriller Black Swan, nominated for Academy Awards
in 5 categories, has inspired a new fashion trend that includes
multilayered tutus, feathers and cobwebby knits.
According to the New York Times, "Come spring, a
ballet-inspired trend may well extend to every level of the market:
Lipsy of London, a line sold at Bloomingdale's; ASOS, the online
boutique; and BCBG Max Azria are all selling tutus, to say nothing
of the rehearsal togs and balletic underpinnings that are American
Apparel's stock in trade."
While we're sure to receive a number of ballet-inspired garments
in the near future for cleaning, I'm sure we'll have no problem
returning them to our clients in pristine condition. After all,
we've been cleaning the real stuff -- the entire costume collection
belonging to Ballet Arizona -- for a few years
now.
