An encore performance: RAVE FabriCARE performs The Nutcracker

Black SwanThe ballet thriller Black Swan, nominated for Academy Awards in 5 categories, has inspired a new fashion trend that includes multilayered tutus, feathers and cobwebby knits.

According to the New York Times, "Come spring, a ballet-inspired trend may well extend to every level of the market: Lipsy of London, a line sold at Bloomingdale's; ASOS, the online boutique; and BCBG Max Azria are all selling tutus, to say nothing of the rehearsal togs and balletic underpinnings that are American Apparel's stock in trade."

While we're sure to receive a number of ballet-inspired garments in the near future for cleaning, I'm sure we'll have no problem returning them to our clients in pristine condition. After all, we've been cleaning the real stuff -- the entire costume collection belonging to Ballet Arizona -- for a few years now.

A few weeks ago we received the first installment of The Nutcracker.

Here are some photos of the costumes arriving at our facility:

And here are photos of a few of the costumes after they had been cleaned and pressed:
