The handbag was sent to the manufacturer for
cleaning but the request to clean was declined. The reason for
their decision is understandable: the client has the expectation
that the handbag will be returned in "showroom perfect" condition
and perfection in the hand cleaning of a handbag can almost never
be attained. Rather than "disappoint" the client, the manufacturer
elected not to clean the handbag.
