Green Earth
Cleaning, a pioneer in the development and licensing of
Siloxane dry cleaning technology, has just featured
RAVE FabriCARE in their Innovator Spotlight series.
Here is the text ...
Stu Bloom is not your average dry cleaner. A native of South
Africa, he did not start out in the dry cleaning industry. As a
businessman living in New York City, he found himself frustrated
with very few options to suit his dry cleaning needs and give his
garments the care he felt they deserved. When it was time for Stu
to move on from the concrete jungle, he opted for the wide open
spaces of Arizona where he opened RAVE FabriCARE.
RAVE FabriCARE is focused on quality of product. Stu puts it
simply, "garment care is a craft and we sell craftsmanship." The
average turn-around time for a garment is one week. Drawing on
clients from all over the U.S., Canada and Mexico, as well as
around the world, Stu has an incredibly loyal customer base that
trusts only him with their fine garments. On top of the standard
services offered by most dry cleaners, RAVE FabriCARE goes above
and beyond by offering an array of conveniences such as, Nationwide
Clean By Mail, Vacation Packing and House Moving.
Stu's marketing strategy is different than most dry cleaners. He
does not give out coupons of any sort and advertises only once a
year in a Phoenix society magazine. He has made a point of forging
relationships with high-end retailers in his market area, such as
BARNEYS NY, GUCCI, ESCADA, LOUIS VUITTON, MAX MARA, NEIMAN MARCUS,
NORDSTROM, SAKS FIFTH AVENUE AND PRADA, as well as bespoke and
custom tailors around the U.S. These retailers rely on RAVE
FabriCARE "to care for inventory that has become soiled, and for
customer-owned garments that have been rejected as "uncleanable" or
that have been improperly cleaned and/or finished by other
cleaners."
Stu feels that RAVE's success is due to its single-minded focus on
quality of product to the complete exclusion of the strategies and
tactics pursued by their competition. There is a niche for fine
garment care and Stu has successfully tapped into that
market.
One of Stu's newer specialties is handbag and shoe cleaning and
restoration. He has successfully cleaned and restored designer
handbags and shoes made by CHANEL, BOTTEGA, ESCADA, FERRAGAMO,
GUCCI, JIMMY CHOO, LOUIS VUITTON and PRADA to name a few.
Stu's maintains a blog, True Quality Cleaning, that has also gained
a loyal fan base. The blog features items that have been brought in
or sent in and carefully restored to look good as new. Blogging has
proved to be a great way to showcase the expertise and service
available at RAVE FabriCARE.
In April 2013, RAVE FabriCARE will celebrate its 25th
anniversary.
